<< Click image to enlarge With a combined rental of framed fabric Trapezoids and Leaf structures this is what Jasmine had to say about CDP: When my client wanted to add some "movement" to their stage presentation and suggested "magical moving panels" I checked my watch and knew that with only two weeks to showtime… I was going to have to capture the moment fast. I instantly thought of CDP because I knew they had the most cutting edge design and lightweight modular stage sets and I could leverage them quickly. I also knew that with a little bit of lighting magic and maybe a few showgirls I could get all the "magical movement" I needed and still stay within a quick and dirty budget. The process was so simple, I designed my set based on their rental inventory, set up the order and made sure it included delivery to Las Vegas, and that was that. Of course I was a little nervous, but I shouldn't have been. Everything showed up right on time even through a Vegas sized dock and mega-hotel logistical nightmare! It practically set-up it's self with my small crew and required no supervision from me. That allowed me to focus on proportions, placement and the entire AV installation simultaneously instead of fretting over an unknown rental set. The client was thrilled with all of the lighting color options we leveraged throughout the presentation and we got great industry press once it was said and done! Illumination Production Services

5 Tips for Scenic InstallsYou plan in advance for a successful install and want the process to be smooth and predictable. Here are some simple rules to prepare for that show site experience. 1. Check the venue access in advance. Access, height and size of the loading dock. Next, the service corridors and freight elevators to the room. Can you get your rolling crates all the way through to the room… and don't forget the door width and height. 2. Scheduling the install time coordinated with a stage manager or tech director is critical. Require an accurate start time for the scenic crew and avoid wasted labor hours. 3. Be sure the house crew has the deck in place for your install. All lighting and AV has to be set in place prior to scenic work commencing on stage. 4. Provide safety lines on all scenic over 12' tall and glow tape at the upstage edge for talent entrance and egress 5. Pre-build all modular systems in easily carried sub-assemblies and move to final taped position as time and light permits. | |||
