CDP Design Department’s Top Renderings

Renderings are the means to an end for most producers when designing sets. They help visualize conceptually what is proposed through a written proposal process. Of course for many reasons not all rendered designs will be considered for a final show. Many become idea templates for future productions. Here are some unique designs from our graphic artists that were destined for success but somehow did not make the final cut. You be the judge!

Dan Bukata and Associates

Dan Bukata, a local production manager for Surviving Infancy, a new video guide for educating new parents on Pediatric Medical Emergencies, was on the hunt for a production location for his recent video shoot. He needed a sound stage close to Los Angeles with easy access and state of the art facilities to manage his production. He found the perfect venue at Interfoto Productions, Inc. in the beautiful San Gabriel Valley township of Monrovia, California (a location already famous for film and TV productions.) His next challenge was to arrange for an engaging backdrop that could display his graphics as well as provide a camera ready stage environment. He asked Oggie Borrison, owner and manager of Interfoto if there were any scenic providers close by that could handle his unique request. Oggie gladly suggested their scenic partner Concept Design Productions. Given that CDP was only blocks from Interfoto Dan made a quick visit to the CDP showroom and it didn’t take him long to spot our Cy-Tower displays. The C-Towers offered the flexibility of positioning his graphic treatments and modular colored panels where he pleased, and also were capable of handling front, back or top lighting. All things considered, Dan found his location and nailed his scenic needs in one day. How’s that for a One-Stop-Shop! Needless to say his video shoot was successful and the instructional website will be up and running in no time. Thanks Dan for sharing your experience with us and utilizing the best two products in southern California!

Certificate of Insurance-Is it Really Necessary?

One of the most frequently asked questions in a proposal process is why do I have to provide a certificate of insurance? It’s very simple. There are many unknowns in the corporate event arena, especially when it involves movement and handling of large quantities of production equipment. Liability issues are inevitable and this is why clients, suppliers and venue operators need to be protected and safe from unexpected incidents. In the rental business asking for a certificate of insurance is a professional courtesy to ensure everyone is protected from any liability issues that may occur in the course of a show. With this document in hand all parties will be covered in the event of damages, loss or injuries sustained. Go to your show with “Peace of Mind” and provide your vendor with a certificate of insurance when requested. We are happy to provide you with one in return.
